Bejarano, Dread Kings Maul Wildthings, 21-1
|
The Boise Dread Kings handed the Washington Wildthings a sound defeat, 21-1, at Ballpark of Boise. Bryan Bejarano was a main contributor to the win. He went 4 for 6 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 7 for Boise. Chris Gilmore snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 3.1 innings. He's now 1-1 on the season. Alex Lozada got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Bejarano contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Boise in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Bejarano took a fastball from Nate Roberson and stroked the home run to left-center. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Dread Kings to leap in front, 4-1.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Danny Sanchez.
The Dread Kings now own a record of 31-29.
