Scorpions Pull Out Late-Game Win, 5-4
Tom Lusardi helped his team muscle past the Cincinnati Royals, 5-4. In the game, the Syracuse designated hitter went 3 for 5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs. The winner was John Landgren in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gordie Clifford took the loss. Cincinnati falls to 2-1.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Lusardi hit a fastball from Gordie Clifford for a run-scoring double. The Scorpions, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
