Mountaineers Lose to Suns in Walk-Off
The Winchester Mountaineers got a superb performance from pitcher Gilberto Cortez, but the Aurora Suns still won the game, 8-4. Cortez threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The winner was Josh Edwards in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Mark Crocker took the loss. Their 33-26 record puts the Suns third in the Eastern AA Southen Division.

Aurora got a knockout punch from Danny Rankins. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Aurora manager Oscar Figeroa.
