The Winchester Mountaineers just keep winning.

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old designated hitter Billy Carroll, the Winchester Mountaineers stopped the Libertyville Polecats, 5-1. The winner was Winchester reliever Gilberto Cortez, now 5-1. The loser was Joe Lilley.

Carroll had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a 2-2 cutter from Joe Lilley, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Mountaineers a 5-1 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Carroll.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Carroll.

The winning continues for Winchester, with the latest triumph making it 12 straight.
