Extra-Inning Win by Mountaineers Over Chiefs
|
The Mescalero Chiefs wasted an impressive 6-inning effort from starter Ted Kelly, falling, 2-1, to the Winchester Mountaineers in 10 innings at Mountaineers Park. The Mountaineers have an impressive 37-14 record.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Winchester designated hitter Billy Carroll, facing Luis Mora, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Mountaineers the 2-1 win.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Carroll said.
