Everly Powers Sea Dogs to 12-6 Win
|
Thanks in large part to catcher Ben Everly, the Charleston Sea Dogs beat the Oakland Invaders, 12-6. Everly was 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Sean Stevens, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 2. The Invaders drop to 11-12 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2026 season.
Charlie Paquin, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Charleston cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop drew 1 walk in 6 plate appearances.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Paquin said.
