Fresno got a terrific performance from pitcher Jim Unknown, but it wasn't enough to beat the Aurora Suns. Aurora won the Running Rebels Ballpark contest, 3-2. Unknown threw 8.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Getting the save was Ken Staggs, his 10th. This win makes it 6 in a row for Aurora.
Eric Reed chipped in for Aurora, stroking a crucial 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Fresno manager Jayden Edwards said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
