Mesa pitcher Dustin Mitchell did his part in helping his team defeat the Boise Dread Kings, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Nate Peercy was called on to finish, recording his 10th save. Mesa is last in the Eastern AA Southen Division with a record of 23-29.
Mesa went up, 3-1, on Chris Yost's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Yost hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Boise pitcher Chad Iverson shaking his head.
"Tough loss," said Boise manager Sean Drummond. "But we'll learn from it."
