The Traverse City Bears weathered an outstanding game by Aurora right fielder Pete Lemish to topple the Suns, 9-8. Lemish went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Alex de Jesus picked up the save for Traverse City, his 8th of the year. The third-place Bears bumped their record to 18-31.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Jonathan Grant came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Aurora pitcher Sean Gary, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Traverse City on top, 9-8.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Grant told a Traverse City Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
