Dread Kings Get Past Alcoa for 7-6 Win
|
Though he had a stellar game, John Campbell could not prevent his team, the Alcoa Millionaires, from losing, 7-6, to the Boise Dread Kings. Campbell went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2. Boise has now won 6 in a row.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 22-year old third baseman Danny Martinez had a chance to be the hero. Alcoa pitcher Jim Unknown wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Martinez drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Dread Kings had themselves a thrilling win.
"This game had its share of tense moments," Martinez said, postgame.
