Eskimo Brothers Get One-Run Win at Washington
|
The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers picked up a win at Red Barons Ballpark, courtesy of Rodrigo Izquierdo. The right-hander helped his team stop the Washington Wildthings, 2-1. Encinitas now sits at 35-13, while Washington falls to 9-39.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Eskimo Brothers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the second, when right fielder Armando Gomez hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Roberto Melendez and made the score 2-0, Eskimo Brothers. Gomez went 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Izquierdo.
