Despite a great performance by Boise designated hitter Alex Mareno, the Corpus Christi Mermen defeated the Dread Kings by the score of 5-4 at Ballpark of Boise. Mareno went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Josh Maughan collected save number 6. Corpus Christi is now 26-23. Boise is 29-20.

Mitch Jarka aided the Corpus Christi cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

"I was a little disappointed," said Boise manager Sean Drummond. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
