The Winchester Mountaineers defeated the Alcoa Millionaires, 6-4, in Eastern AA action at Mountaineers Park. Winchester pitcher Jonathan Malcolm had a standout performance. Malcolm, the winner, moves to 5-2. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Winchester is looking good at 36-14.

Greg Quam's at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning was a big one for Winchester. Coming to bat with two out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Winchester trailing 1-0, the second baseman hit a run-scoring single.

"It feels good to get this one," Quam told the Winchester Today.
