Randy Lupton, who is tied for 10th in the E-AA with a 2.18 ERA, was locked in. The right-hander led the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers to a 6-2 win against the Alcoa Millionaires at Alcoa Grounds. Lupton, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Encinitas pushed its record to 33-12.
Encinitas used the hitting of Jason Hoover to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Eskimo Brothers on top, 5-0. For the game, Hoover had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
