Dread Kings Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
The Boise Dread Kings had to overcome a fine effort from Libertyville pitcher Ricardo Alvarado to win, 1-0, at Field of the Polecats. Alvarado went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Earning his 5th save of the year was Mike Trivett. The Dread Kings now own a record of 28-19.

The Polecats had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Dread Kings going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old first baseman Alex Mareno came to the plate. Mareno hit a solo home run on a 1-0 fastball from Libertyville hurler Ricardo Alvarado. It was Mareno's 8th home run of the year.

Mareno attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
