The Rohnert Park Cougars had to overcome a fine effort from Boise pitcher Mickey Ferrell to win, 4-3, at Ballpark of Greenup. Ferrell went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The last-place Cougars improved to 18-27.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Rohnert Park. That's when former first round draft pick Dean Brum hit a run-scoring double off Reynaldo Beltran to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"That was a good game -- all the way through," said Brum.
