Reed Excels, But Suns Win
The Aurora Suns spoiled a good performance by Alcoa shortstop Dillon Reed, bumping off Alcoa, 14-5, at Suns Field. Reed hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Willie Trevino, the winner, improved to 2-4. He held Alcoa to 3 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Alcoa.

Mike Fowler had a big 3-run home run for the Suns in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Aurora trailing 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a slider from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Brian Miller and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Suns on top, 5-3.

"We hit the ball hard," said Aurora manager Oscar Figeroa. "Line drive after line drive."
