Mountaineers Get 9-6 Win Versus Riverside
Despite a fine performance by third baseman Bob de Leon, the Riverside Rotters lost to the Winchester Mountaineers, 9-6. de Leon went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. Jeremy Ferraro snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Frank Sarabia picked up the save, his 13th.

Dan Canady, who is tied for 9th in the E-AA in total bases with 93, took Riverside hurler Dan Woods deep in the bottom of the seventh. His solo home run put the Mountaineers on top, 5-4. In all, Canady had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"It feels good to get this one," Canady told the Winchester News.

The Mountaineers move to 35-7 with the win, while the Rotters drop to 28-14.
