Mountaineers Win Streak Reaches 7
|
Winchester pitcher Ronnie Roberson did his part in helping his team defeat the Mesa Razor Sharks, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Roberson, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up no walks. Mark Burkhart notched his 11th save of the season.
Luis Olivella was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI for Winchester. The 31-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Lílian Pona. It was his 10th walk of the season.
"We had a nice day," said Winchester skipper Mitchell Young.
The wins continue to add up for Winchester. The latest makes it 7 in a row.
