Dragons Suffer 4-3 Home Defeat
|
The Halifax Heathens beat the Dallas Dragons, 4-3, at Tennant Healthcare Ballpark. The win was due in part to center fielder Juan Gonzalez, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Halifax pitcher Jack Ivory got the win. He's now 4-0. Chi-yong Har was tagged with the loss. Jeff Buck got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Halifax used a clutch at-bat from Eric Kukowski to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Heathens ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Halifax manager David Morris called it "a good, solid win."
The Dragons drop to 11-12 and continue their mediocre start to the 2023 season.
