The Rohnert Park Cougars licked the Traverse City Bears, 5-3. Ron Salcido deserved a big chunk of the credit. The right fielder was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs for the Cougars. Mike Garcia closed it out for his 1st save. With the win, Rohnert Park pushed its record to 22-22.

With Rohnert Park leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Salcido batted against Traverse City pitcher Jason Casale. Salcido hit a fastball to center for a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Cougars on top, 4-2.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Rohnert Park manager Michael Kelleher.
