Late Rally by Mountaineers Locks Up 5-2 Win
|
The Winchester Mountaineers earned a win at Alcoa Grounds, knocking off the Alcoa Millionaires, 5-2. On the bump for Winchester was right-hander Brad Toews. He had a starring role in the triumph. Alcoa's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Winchester won the game in part because of Joe Martin. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mountaineers ahead, 4-2. For the game, Martin had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Toews.
