Pitcher Lou Cremer was rock solid in helping the Fresno Running Rebels beat the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers, 2-1. Cremer, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Jordan Clayton nailed down his 8th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jeremy Hatton? The Fresno second baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Running Rebels on top, 2-0. For the game, Hatton had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Tough loss," said Encinitas manager Logan Greening. "This one will stick in my craw."
The win hiked the Fresno record to 25-16.
