Suns Shut Out Yard Dogs, 1-0
|
Efrain Herrera never let the Yard Dogs get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Suns to a win, 1-0. Earning his 6th save of the year was Ken Staggs. The Suns go to 16-25 with the win.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Suns had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when left fielder John McCarthy hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Josh McPherson and made the score 1-0, Suns. McCarthy was 1 for 4.
"From pitch one to the last pitch, Efrain was aggressive," said Aurora manager Oscar Figeroa.
