The Boise Dread Kings defeated the Winchester Mountaineers, 5-3, in Eastern AA action at Mountaineers Park. Boise pitcher Matt Pfluger had a standout performance. Bobby Martinez earned his 5th save, after closing out the game. With this game in the books, Boise is 23-15, Winchester 29-9.

Boise used a well-timed hit by Jim Brannon to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Dread Kings ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Matt is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Boise manager Roberto Flores.
