Winchester turned a good effort from starter Ed Jenkins into a win over the Boise Dread Kings at Mountaineers Park. The Mountaineers won the game, 8-0. Winchester leads the Eastern AA Southen Division by 2½ games.

The Mountaineers got a big hit from first baseman Ryan Burchett. Facing Boise pitcher Rich Lashley in the bottom of the seventh, Burchett pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 10th home run of the season put the Mountaineers ahead, 7-0.

"I felt good up there," said Burchett. "I saw the ball well."
