Though he had a terrific game, Ryan Bone could not prevent his team, the Rohnert Park Cougars, from absorbing a loss. Mesa won the game, 6-5. Bone was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. The win went to D.J. Attridge in relief, making him now 5-0. Chris Zuniga took the loss for Rohnert Park. Oscar Flores, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Had Brian Sanders not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Sanders hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Razor Sharks.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Rohnert Park manager Ramiro Mendiola. "The effort was great."

The last-place Cougars have lost 5 straight games.
