Down to Defeat Goes Fresno, 6-4
|
Fresno center fielder Jared Scafidi had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Scafidi went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, even as Libertyville beat the Running Rebels, 6-4. With the win, Libertyville upped its record to 27-10.
Chris Scoville had a big 3-run home run for the Polecats in the bottom of the second inning. With Libertyville trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Mora and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Polecats on top, 3-1.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Scoville.
