The Libertyville Polecats faced a tough opponent in Traverse City pitcher Rich Pumphrey, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Field of the Polecats by a final score of 1-0. Pumphrey went 7 innings and allowed no runs. The Polecats improved their record to 16-16 by beating Traverse City.

The Polecats got a clutch hit from shortstop David Jordan. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Polecats.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Jordan said.
