Razor Sharks Earn Late Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Mesa Razor Sharks and the Rohnert Park Cougars, Fernando Garcia, who is tied for 2nd in the E-AA in wins with 4, proved to be the difference. The Mesa right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Razor Sharks win. Garcia, now 4-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Pat Eisenhower collected his 6th save.
Matt Leonard, who is tied for 6th in the E-AA with a .460 on-base percentage, helped out the Mesa cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the center fielder went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Rohnert Park skipper Josh Dix.
Mesa has now won 5 straight, while the Cougars have lost 6 in a row.
