The home team gave the crowd at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium something to cheer about.

The 3-hit performance of Mark Torres, who is tied for 10th in the NC in RBI with 15, helped the San Diego Fleet beat the Hollywood Stars, 11-1. Felipe Ayala, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Stars to 1 run on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2.

San Diego got a lift in the bottom of the first from left fielder Dale Day, who hit a slider to center for a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season put the Fleet up, 2-1.

"We came out aggressive," said Fleet manager Brian Burnett. "We came out swinging the bats."

With the loss, Hollywood drops to 10-12.
