The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers defeated the Mescalero Chiefs, 3-1, in Eastern AA action at Chiefs Ballpark. Encinitas pitcher Juan Rosales had a standout performance. Encinitas raised its record to 17-13 with the win.

Arturo Guevara came through with a big-time hit for Encinitas. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Rosales said after the game.
