Running Rebels Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bears, 7-5
The Fresno Running Rebels welcomed the Traverse City Bears to an night game at Greensboro Grounds.

The Fresno Running Rebels had to overcome a fine effort from Traverse City pitcher Ahmed Harris to win, 7-5, at Greensboro Grounds. Harris went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Jeremy Adams earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.

Fresno used a timely hit from Jared Scafidi to get the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Running Rebels ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Scafidi, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

The win has Fresno at 11-18.
