Ben Heath did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to spare the Fresno Running Rebels an extra-inning, 9-8 loss to the Traverse City Bears at Greensboro Grounds. Heath was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Alex de Jesus in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Bubba Quimby took the loss. Traverse City sits at 13-15.

The Bears got a clutch hit from center fielder David Shein. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bears.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Zach Hildebrant, the Traverse City skipper.
