The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Traverse City fans at Greensboro Grounds.

Traverse City Bears starter Francisco Macias had all his pitches working at Greensboro Grounds. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 9-2 Traverse City win over the Fresno Running Rebels. Emilio Ampuero got the save, the 1st for him this season.

In the bottom of the sixth, Traverse City second baseman Jim Ells put his team on top. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 4th home run of the year. Fresno pitcher Jim Unknown served it up. Just like that, the Bears were ahead, 3-2.

"I wish every win came this easy," said Ells.

The Running Rebels drop to 10-18, as their fitful start to the 2021 campaign continues.
