Mounties Win at Hollywood, 6-3
|
Vancouver and Hollywood duked it out and the Mounties came out victorious.
Though he had a stellar game, Eric Daniel could not prevent his team, the Hollywood Stars, from losing, 6-3, to the Vancouver Mounties. Daniel was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Lance Goecker claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Chris Brown was credited with the save for Vancouver, his 7th of the season.
Vancouver used a clutch at-bat from Kevin Schneider to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mounties ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"The vibe's good," said Vancouver manager Zaire Hyde. "We've got to keep it going."
The win gives Vancouver a record of 13-9.
