The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers defeated the Traverse City Bears, 5-1, at Greensboro Grounds. Encinitas was led by 27-year old left fielder Brad Child, who hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Andres Moran was the winner. He's now 2-1. The loser was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Ahmed Harris. Tom Haning earned the save, his 5th, for the Eskimo Brothers.
Early in the game, Child had a 2-run home run for Encinitas. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Eskimo Brothers on top, 3-1.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Traverse City manager Zach Hildebrant.
Traverse City, at 5-23, has had a dismal start to the season.
