Suns Win, 8-4, Versus Rotters
|
The Aurora Suns beat the Riverside Rotters, 8-4, with major props going to left fielder Brian Phillips. On the day, Phillips went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Suns. Carlos Diaz earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 1-1. Gary Day earned the save for Aurora, his 2nd of the year.
In the bottom of the third, 24-year old third baseman Adam Peterson hit a 2-run triple. The 1st triple of the season for the Aurora designated hitter put the Suns on top, 4-2.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Phillips after the game.
With the win, Aurora raised its record to 15-14.
