The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers took Traverse City pitcher Sean Finch's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Greensboro Grounds. The final score had Encinitas getting past the Bears, 3-2. Finch went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 7. Encinitas reliever Chris Porter picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jimmy Carr was saddled with the loss. Early on, the Eskimo Brothers, at 18-7, have excelled.

Juan Gonzalez had a direct impact on the outcome. Gonzalez contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the eighth inning to put Encinitas up, 3-2.
