Polecats Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 24-year old third baseman Trent Liptak, the Libertyville Polecats stopped the Alcoa Millionaires, 3-1. Libertyville, now 18-6, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Libertyville used the timely hitting of Jon Olejniczak to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Polecats on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Libertyville manager Justin Thiede commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
