Lopez Powers Mountaineers to 6-0 Win
The Winchester Mountaineers topped the Mobile Yard Dogs, 6-0, with youngster John Lopez playing a key role. Lopez hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Mountaineers in the win. Winchester reliever Kareem Craig got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Dustin Engstrom was tagged with the loss. Now 19-4, the 2022 Mountaineers have been phenomenal so far.

The Mountaineers got a big at-bat from first baseman Ryan Burchett. For the game, Burchett went 1 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Winchester a 2-0 lead.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Mobile skipper Gil Gomez.
