The Mobile Yard Dogs beat the Winchester Mountaineers, 6-3. Mobile pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Luis Aguirre led the way. Hunter Saakadze closed it out for Mobile, earning his 5th save. Losses have been few and far between for the Mountaineers so far this season. Their record drops to 17-4.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Matt Anderson? The Mobile first baseman had a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Yard Dogs on top, 3-0. For the game, Anderson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Aguirre told the Mobile Daily News.
