Running Rebels Get One-Run Win at Aurora
|
The Fresno Running Rebels beat the Aurora Suns, 2-1. Fresno pitcher and Willemstad, Curaçao, native Luis Mora led the way. Mora yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. Fresno, now 8-14, is off to a slow start.
Fresno used a well-timed hit by Luke Peiffer to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Running Rebels ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Tough loss," said Aurora manager Oscar Figeroa. "But we'll learn from it."
