Cougars Better Suns, 4-3
|
Starting pitcher Cory Cirello pitched well enough to help the Rohnert Park Cougars beat the Aurora Suns, 4-3. Earning his 1st save for Rohnert Park was Edgar Quesada. The Suns fall to 8-13 and continue their sputtering start to the 2021 season.
Ricky Nava had a big 2-run double for the Cougars in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Rohnert Park leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Efrain Herrera and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cougars ahead, 3-0.
Nava attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
