Yard Dogs Deal Millionaires 9-6 Loss
|
Alcoa got a terrific game from third baseman John Wilson. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Mobile, 9-6, in 10 innings. Wilson was 5 for 5 with 2 doubles, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mobile reliever Pete Duncan picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Jim Unknown was saddled with the loss. Getting the save was Hunter Saakadze, his 4th.
Mobile used the clutch hitting of Humberto Castano to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Yard Dogs the lead, 7-6. For the game, Castano had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Our team found a way to get it done," said Castano.
Alcoa, at 4-16, has had a dismal start to the season.
