Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Rohnert Park Cougars got the win.
Starting pitcher Angelo Ibanez gave the Rohnert Park Cougars a rock-solid effort. The Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela native helped his team defeat the Mesa Razor Sharks, 3-2, at Ballpark of Greenup. Terry May was credited with the save for Rohnert Park, his 7th of the season.
Mario Herrera chipped in a run-scoring single for Rohnert Park in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Ibanez. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
For the Razor Sharks, the loss makes their record 6-12.
