The Mesa Razor Sharks defeated the Rohnert Park Cougars, 8-4, at Razor Sharks Ballpark. Leading the charge for Mesa was left fielder Chris Yost. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. John Sherline got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Cougars to 2 runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The setback makes the Cougars 7-13.

Mesa grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Yost hit a 2-run home run off Gerardo Carrion. His 6th home run of the season put the Razor Sharks out in front, 4-2.

"We came out aggressive," said Razor Sharks manager Danny Schexnayder. "We came out swinging the bats."
