Razor Sharks Earn Late 8-7 Win
Encinitas got a terrific game from shortstop Alex Melo. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Mesa, 8-7. Melo was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Mesa goes to 9-8.

The Eskimo Brothers had been locked in a 7-7 tie with the Razor Sharks going into the top of the ninth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old left fielder Chris Yost came to the plate. Yost hit a run-scoring double on a 2-2 fastball from Encinitas hurler Ken Griffey. It was Yost's 4th double of the year.

Mesa manager Danny Schexnayder was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
