Visiting Cougars Beat Polecats, 11-7
The Rohnert Park Cougars besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Libertyville first baseman Chris Malay by beating the Polecats, 11-7, at Field of the Polecats. Malay went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Evan Hughes picked up the win in relief. Dave Leonetti took the loss for Libertyville. The win gives Rohnert Park a record of 7-9.

With two out in the top of the ninth, Brandon Gibson had a game-changing hit. The Cougars shortstop slammed a 2-run single off Ruben Torres, making the score 9-6, Rohnert Park.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Gibson. "It sure beats the alternative."
