Alcoa Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
Fresno got a terrific game from shortstop Mario Prieto. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Alcoa, 6-3. Prieto went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jay Gerbitz snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Jim Unknown suffered the loss. For the Running Rebels, the loss makes them 5-10.

Alcoa got a clutch hit from Jim Wilkes. The pinch hitter launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

Wilkes told a Alcoa Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
