The 3-hit performance of Josh Botello, who is tied for 7th in the E-AA with a .373 batting average, helped the Winchester Mountaineers beat the Traverse City Bears, 4-1. The hot start continues for the defending champion Mountaineers. This was their 12th win in 17 games.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Botello hit a run-scoring triple off Rich Pumphrey. It propelled the Mountaineers into the lead, 1-0.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Traverse City skipper Jeff Lacher, "and it cost us."
