Chiefs Get 5-2 Win Versus Riverside
|
The Mescalero Chiefs beat the Riverside Rotters by a score of 5-2. Mescalero second baseman Nate Cobb deserved the lion's share of the credit. Cobb was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Chiefs. The winning pitcher was Ted Kelly. He tossed 85 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. Eric Sawyer sewed up the save, his 3rd.
Cobb contributed in the bottom of the third. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Mescalero get the win.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Cobb.
